My Children Inspired my Christmas Cards
November 27, 2009 on 2:25 pm | By admin | In ArtsI always get a thrill when I receive a really nice and expensive greeting card from a family member or a friend, but not quite as much as the simple hand made cards that my children specially created for me when they were at junior school. Last year I was thinking how personal and meaningful those simple little cards were and decided to handcraft some of my own Christmas cards that fitted the person they were being sent to, rather than buying mass produced cards from the local store. I thought I would use Quilling as a technique as not too many cards contain that, making it unique and special. My youngest daughter helped with the cards, it will probably be the last time because she is getting married in the Spring. I will probably extend my card making to birthdays and other occasions and will continue with the Quilling theme as I have had so so much fun creating the cards.
