I Develop Compensation Surveys

August 28, 2009 on 6:51 am | By admin | In Business | No Comments

I work for a company that does compensation surveys, and in the two years I have worked there, I have learned a lot about how companies hire employees.  What happens when we are hired, is that a consultant (me) meets with the company and gets background information on the company’s employees, such as job duties, compensation, and things like that. Then, I develop a list of potential survey participants from similar organizations. Based on the survey results of the compensation of other organizations, I develop a report with recommendations for how the company can make itself more attractive to potential employees through their compensation packages. It’s fascinating work, and I definitely know what type of job I would look for if I ever quit this one.
