The Peavey Wolfgang

November 27, 2009 on 6:10 am | By admin | In Arts

As a full time musician, having the right equipment is very important to me. When I first started playing the guitar, I had the cheapest equipment you could possibly have, but over time, I started making little investments here and there, and now my rig is awesome. I recently went out and bought a sweet peavey wolfgang guitar. I’ve wanted one of these for years, and now I finally have one. This is going to be great for all of my solos in my new rock band. I can’t wait to turn peoples heads when I pull this guitar out on stage.

Chicago Photographers

November 22, 2009 on 11:25 am | By admin | In Arts

The Tribune recently ran a story about Chicago photographers and where people get there wedding photos taken.  There were some amazing portraits with the city being used as a backdrop.  One of my favorite pictures was the newly married couple standing on a bridge at night with traffic zooming by underneath.  It must of been some sort of slow shutter shot since the cars were kind of blurred, a pretty cool idea.  There were some other gems in the bunch but that photo really caught my eye with its unique location and the photographers eye for composition.

How to Sing More Powerful

November 18, 2009 on 6:45 pm | By admin | In Arts

It was Plant that really inspired me as a young singer.  His vocals were just full of sentiment.  Learning how to sing more powerfully was a priority as a musician because I knew I could connect with people.  The drama and motion wrapped up in music was very attractive.  We can learn to sing effectively with less effort if we use the right techniques.  Some people don’t understand that you don’t necessarily have to try harder to be profound with your singing.  You can relax and create more volume and dynamics if using technique correctly.  The simple beginning lessons mastered over time will benefit you greatly.

Work It!

November 18, 2009 on 10:49 am | By admin | In Arts

In the high school I work at, at least once a month they have a dance. Usually they keep this in the cafeteria after school. And it normally lasts for about 3 hours. That is enough time to get there and get the dancing down and get a good work out. The deejay have always been a good one and he plays the best party song ever. Whatever song he plays, the crowd hits the dance floor with all their might and swagger. Everyone leaves at the end sweating and tired from a good time with friends and the deejay.

Knowing Which Centrepiece To Buy

November 16, 2009 on 5:12 am | By admin | In Arts

Many people want a centrepiece for their dining room, but it’s not as easy as going to the store and choosing the first one that we see. It takes planning because we need them to add to the room; not just be there. There are many options online these days, so maybe that’s the route you should go. Research the many sites available, but it’s important to have an idea of the style you want before you start. If you want to have a centrepiece that really sticks out, find a site or store that specializes in that style. This shouldn’t be an impulse buy. Make sure you find a centrepiece that you’ll want around for years to come.

I Want to Meet Randy Charach

November 7, 2009 on 7:18 am | By admin | In Arts

A couple of days ago, one of my dear friends sent me an email that said that he was going to be traveling to the city, and he wondered if I would want to meet up with him.  He said that he had been reading this Talent Agency Book by Randy Charach, and he really wanted to talk to me about it.  He knew that I was considering starting my own talent agency, and he thought that this was a book that I should read before I try and go through with it.  I told him that I would love to meet with him for a cup of coffee.

Home School Music Class

October 30, 2009 on 8:56 am | By admin | In Arts

I’ve been thinking about getting my son started on playing a musical instrument for school. We home school and he loves it but I worry about Music classes. When I was in Junior High, we had three different music classes. My husband suggested a beginner’s guitar guide for our son. He said that he used to like playing the guitar, so if John has any questions about it he can answer them. That’s a big improvement, usually my husband stays away from any of the homeschooling stuff because he’s afraid he’ll mess something up. I’m glad there’s something that he can do to help with school.
