As a freelance writer, I get the opportunity to learn and write about all sorts of things that I wouldn’t get to with any other job. I write on pretty much any topic, depending on what my customers want, and even submit a lot of my own stuff to various magazines and newspapers. Anyway, I did an article the other day for one of my longtime customers on finding an affordable MIFI alternative. I had to do a decent amount of research, as I had never heard of MIFI before. But it was fascinating, and now I know one more thing that I never would have learned at a normal job.

Is it any wonder that office computers need to be upgraded regularly to make sure they continue running smoothly? Not to mention the amount of memory that is needed to keep an office or business productive.

My office recently upgraded all of the PCs in the building. I didn’t think we were having a problem with computer speed until we got new ones. Then I realized how slow it had been because my new PC is so fast. And I can have multiple programs open without my computer crashing. The new year is starting off great!

Last night I was watching this documentary on that new computer channel. Not the channel on your computer, but the channel on TV that is all about computers. They were talking about the evolution of the computer virus. How it started out by a couple guys in a lab in Wisconsin, and then spread to the U.S. Military. The most recent version is the infamous ms antispyware, that has been infecting machines right and left. The show went on to say that as fast as people develop technology, people are figuring out ways around it. Like an arms race between good guys, and bad guys, if you will.
