What is the aim of MASS foot orthotics?

A recently concept introduced by a podiatrists and foot orthotic lab owner is the MASS foot orthotics, Dr Ed Glaser DPM. MASS stands for maximum arch subtalar supination and is a position of the foot that turns the foot outwards at the ankle (supinates the foot). To hold the foot in this position is the aim of the foot orthotics according to MASS theory and provided by Sole Supports Inc. To get this position a foam casting box is used. The patient is sitting and then there foot is pushed into the foam with the rearfoot supinated and the medial side of the forefoot on the ground.
