December 20, 2009 on 1:42 pm | By admin | In Sports | Comments OffThe best way to get that intimate boating experience you’ve always craved, whether it be a relaxing float down the river or the thrill of rushing through a set of rapids, is surely by kayaking. If you are in need of a kayak though your best bet may be to find a used kayaks, as prices are so high for new ones and unless you plan to race or perform tricks then a used kayak will suit your needs just fine. Before purchasing, make a thorough inspection of the Used Kayak to ensure that it is in good condition and depending on where you find it, it could even be better than some of the new ones out there. The first thing to do is to peruse the internet to get an idea of the kayaks out there and set your budget for what you are willing to spend. Next, determind the type of kayak that you would like. There are various types of kayaks available today and typically fall under the following classifications: rigid, folding, and inflatable. As the name suggests, folding kayaks can easily be transported as they are folded to carry around. Rigid kayaks are constructed with either Kevlar, wood, plastic, or fiberglass. Plastic kayaks are very tough and will last a long time. Fiberglass kayaks are lightweight but more costly while wooden kayaks are hand made and very aesthetically appealing. These also come in a kit and first you must assemble them.
