UK Launch For Amazon Kindle

September 29, 2009 on 1:41 am | By admin | In Technology | 3 Comments

According to The Times newspaper, Amazon is set to launch it’s hugely successful kindle reader in the UK before the end of 2009. Having had previously unsuccessful discussions with various UK telecoms operators, including Vodafone and Orange, it seems that Amazon has now given the task of manufacture and connectivity of the UK Kindle to Qualcomm. If the launch can take place in time for Christmas then Amazon would be almost guaranteed a good start to the Kindle’s UK career as UK residents have, thus far at least, had few options available to them for either e-book reader hardware or the downloadable books themselves.
