Traveling to Singapore

A dear friend of mine is about to set off on an international trip and asked me if I could recommend any things to do in singapore.  I explained to him that Singapore, as an economically depressed area, is relatively inexpensive, in general, for a Westerner to travel in.  That being said, should you want to make your Singapore trip a little less pricey you can follow the advice I gave to my friend: stay off the beaten path and check out some of the natural wonders.  Trekking into the jungle on your own (but still ALWAYS with a group) is a completely free way to take in some truly beautiful spectacles.  When it comes to traveling cheap, the trick isn’t always to just look for less expensive things but also to supplement your sightseeing and day trips with free excursions as well as those that will cost you precious spending money.
